"I hate waiting."

As you might guess, I'm a bit impatient. I had hoped that picking up a pair of knitting needles would help me learn about the virtue of patience... but it seems I just want my projects to go along as quickly as possible.

This is just a test. In a case of a real emergency...

you, the readers of this blog, have FAILED. FAILED FAILED FAILED. I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE getting comments (what blogger doesn't?) but I'm worried about you. I spent at least half of the last post talking about how KALs and I do NOT get along. I sign off saying that I'm going to join the SPORK along. Does anyone confront me on this? NO. Not even any of my girls.

Moving on... the booty call.

first up.

Look what Deborah got me!! Two skeins of SOCK IT TO ME! in a gorgeous blue, a cute little snap case with hand made stitch markers (and they MATCH. they're a SET), some DPNS in sizes 000, 00, 0, and 1s, some chocolate covered macademia nuts, a chibi set of darning needles, and a very sweet card. Thanks Deborah!! (and the package came all the way from Hawaii... think i could squish myself into a box and mail myself back?)

just a close up of the details of the package. I LOOOOVE the blue yarn!

The greek pullover, with many small changes to the pattern, has finally been completed. A little scary, since it knits up quickly, that it took me so long to finish. I made the back smaller than the smallest size, the front is the smallest size, the arms slightly smaller than the smallest size. All that needs to be done now? Buying some pink chiffon and getting Stacey to help me figure out how to sew it on.

Meanwhile, I've been studying my butt off for the big test next Saturday, seeing clients at the clinic, and doing the training up at Boulder. For those of you that thought I was reneging on my promise to blog... when I say Thurs, I mean Thurs night (which really means early Fri morning). See? I follow through on SOME things.

Last call: must mention Michelle's birthday!! (which is today, Friday!!!) Jump over to her blog and wish her a happy b-day...

I would have confronted you on the Spork-a-long, but I'm not without shame at the moment, since I forgot to put your package in my car to take to the post office... for the past three days. I'm seriously going to email myself from work to my home computer to remind myself. *hangs head in shame*
Tomorrow, seriously. Even if it means taking it on the T into Cambridge and finding a P.O. near Harvard.

In defense of all of your commenters - just because you aren't good at *finishing* KALs doesn't mean that you shoudln't *start* them! Plus, the spork is so cute. How could you not want to finish it???

They sell yarn in Hawaii? I didn't knit when I lived there so I couldn't tell you. Chocolate covered macs are delicious and for me that's saying something since as a rule I don't like nuts. As for the Knitalongs I think it's a side effect of being a cyber knitter--you hope that by joining it will motivate you to keep going--even if you already have more things on needles than you will ever finish. Maybe your girls didn't dissuade you because they suffer from the same affliction? :) Happy sporking!

Hey, I've got no reason to jump on your case about joining so many KALs, b/c hello, I have the same problem. Isn't that like the kettle calling the pot black? The Greek Pullover looks great and I'm sure Chau will love it. Gotta get the ribbon attached to it.

Chau is going to love it (I remembered the phoenetics of her name, but for some reason wanted to spell it either Chow or Ciao, which I knew weren't even close to the real thing). Will it be your baby shower gift?

I certainly am guilty of the joining and not finishing, but figure it's harmless as long as you're not buying new yarn for it. Right?

Gosh. Why would I discourage you from the Spork-along when I already bought yarn for it?

Nice booty haul. And your Greek Pullover is really pretty!

Good luck with your test. And remember, all work and no knit makes you a stressed person with empty pointy sticks!

I saw the Greek Pullover sample at Stitches Midwest and loved it in person. I am so jealous that yours looks so great!
